Nursing Team — Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation

Brenda Gonzalez earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and has developed a strong clinical background in neurosurgical and movement disorders care. As part of the RUSH Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation Program, she works closely with patients undergoing evaluation and treatment for conditions such as tremor, Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and advanced therapies including MRI-guided Focused Ultrasound and Deep Brain Stimulation.

Brenda plays an important role in helping patients and families feel informed, prepared, and supported throughout the treatment journey. She values clear communication and patient education, recognizing that advanced neurologic treatments can often feel intimidating or unfamiliar for many patients at first. She enjoys helping explain what to expect before and after procedures, answering questions, and helping patients feel more comfortable and confident in their care.

One of the aspects of her work she finds most rewarding is seeing patients after focused ultrasound procedures and witnessing firsthand the improvement in tremor control, independence, and overall quality of life that these therapies can provide. She is passionate about supporting patients through every stage of treatment and helping create a calm, coordinated, and compassionate experience for both patients and their families.

Outside of medicine, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to her family's hometown of San Miguel de Allende, staying active, and reading thriller novels.
